Gates Controller

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming and outgoing shipments at the gates and weighbridge area, accurately recording relevant details.
  • Weigh shipments using appropriate equipment and ensure accuracy.
  • Document weight data and official papers accurately and systematically.
  • Verify accompanying documents, including invoices, packing lists, and export/import declarations.
  • Collaborate with customs officers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate with financial authorities regarding payment processing and documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and activities in the weighbridge area.
  • Handle any discrepancies or issues related to shipments, documents, or payments.
  • Report any exceptions or discrepancies in weight and measurements immediately.
  • Collaborate with quality departments to analyze the reasons for discrepancies and follow up on corrective actions and case closure.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations of free zones.
  • Adhere to the required confidentiality of recorded information and measurements.
  • Adhere to the schedule for weighing and measurement operations and required reports.
  • Receive and properly store lead for shipping lines to ensure easy accessibility at any time.
  • Properly and accurately place customs lead and shipping line lead in a safe and secure manner.
  • Check vehicles and follow instructions, rejecting vehicles that do not meet specifications.
  • Monitor and record accurate weights of incoming and outgoing trucks.
  • Compare with officially approved documents, comparing recorded weights with official documents such as purchase orders and invoices.
  • Verify official sales invoices and bills of sale to ensure their alignment with recorded weights.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: Diploma in related field.
  • Work Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar position within logistics.

 

Professional Certifications and Training:

  • Training on Jordanian customs regulations.
  • Specialized training in Jordanian customs clearance.
  • Certificate in Customs and Trade Compliance (CCTC).

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to accurately analyze data and information related to weighing operations to detect discrepancies.
  • Communication Skills: Good ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, exchanging information clearly.
  • Logistic Thinking: Ability to understand the flow of shipments and logistics operations to coordinate arrival and departure times.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize information and data and prepare reports in an organized and appropriate manner.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Ability to work with precision and focus on details to ensure data accuracy.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to interact with team members effectively and manage communication with stakeholders.
