Inspection Engineer

Responsibilities

Develop, review and update mechanical inspection and ISO tanks maintenance policies and procedures as per the international codes of API, ASME, ASTM, NACE, ADR, DOT, ASM and Albemarle standards to assure safe and correct employees activities and equipment operation.
Manage the follow-up on implementing mechanical inspection and ISO tanks maintenance procedures and make necessary corrective actions if needed to ensure personnel, equipment and environment safety and all activities done correctly on due date.
Manage internal department training to assure suitable training is provided for his reports according to their responsibilities so all activities within department are performed safely and correctly.
Motivate and develop reporting staff ensuring that objectives are established and communicated; individual performance is supported, monitored and reviewed, to ensure manpower plans are met.
Prepare data to implement and updates the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodology to enhance Plants Integrity and Reliability in order to optimize inspection frequencies, maintenance cost and Plants Availability.
Supervise and participates in inspection activities of equipment and piping, including review of preliminary interpretations carried out by subordinates to assure testing done correctly and accurate results are obtained.
Follow up on stationary equipment failures and investigations, by referring to the standard codes and communicating with equipment suppliers.
Supervise and control glass lined equipment inspections, repairs, shimming works and quality procedures.
Follow up on Safety valves and rupture discs specifications, inspections, testing, and inventory follow up.
Prepare Plants equipment paints specifications and supervise implementation.
Monitor the section function’s performance against pre-set performance goals to ensure that progress is being made in the desirable direction and preventive/ corrective actions are taken accordingly.
Support the continuous update and adherence to maintenance and inspection procedures, and make sure that the department is always working and complying with IS-9001 and ISO 14000 procedures.
Ensuring the Human Resources activities within department (vacations, time attendance, warnings …etc) are all in line with set policies while directing corrective actions when necessary.
Prepare monthly and weekly forecasting for maintenance cost.
Provide technical advice to other departments regarding inspection and ISO tanks maintenance parameters, equipment and activities to assure high performance and reduce cost and help taking accurate decision.
Manage ISO 9001/14000 system application within inspection and ISO tanks maintenance department to ensure complying with the systems and meet audits requirements.
Prepare the inspection reports on monthly and quarterly bases to update the section achievements and keep record.
Prepare and issue due and overdue preventive maintenance activities log and analysis on monthly bases, for follow up on implementation.
Ensure all maintenance activities are complying to JBC health, safety and environment procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
3 years of experience in a related position.
Good in English language reading and writing
Excellent in Computer and communication skills
Have a good supervision skills
Have a good knowledge in ASNT VT, PT, and UT, certificate preferable
Have a good knowledge in welding and fabrication in workshops, CWI or CSWIP certificate preferable.
Have a good knowledge in pressure vessel inspection code, certificate in API 510 preferable
Have a good knowledge in pressure vessel repair code like ASME PCC-2
Have a knowledge in ASME Sec V, VIII, and IX
Have a knowledge in other international standards, like ISO and ADR
