Mechanical Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of reliability maintenance section policies and procedures to assure safe and correct employees activities and equipment operation.
  • Implements maintenance and safety procedures within reliability Maintenance Section and make necessary corrective actions if needed to ensure personnel, equipment and environment safety.
  • Works and follows up reliability maintenance activities based on technical knowledge and expertise to solve problems correctly and safely with minimum cost.
  • Keeps the plant running with the highest availability and OEE, by getting the work done right first time, minimize the break-ins with cooperation with maintenance and production teams and minimize the time of repairs.
  • Initiates and follows up RCFA sessions for equipment failures to support the production and maintenance departments in investigating the failures and in suggesting and implementing the proper corrective actions.
  • Determines and maintains the “Bad Actors” list for Mechanical Seals and ensures plant wide broadcasting through Pareto chart.
  • Establishes priorities for the bad actors list coordinated with the production and CIT.
  • Follows repair work and maintenance activities as needed during turnarounds.
  • Carry out performance appraisals for subordinates according to planned schedules and recommending necessary actions as per the applied practices.
  • Controls section’s overtime costs.
  • Works closely with Maintenance and Operation Supervisors to maintain performance of the equipment.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are complying with JBC health, safety and environment procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of related experience in mechanical reliability and maintenance area. Experience with the Operations of Petro-Chemical plants or similar equipment and operations is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about plant maintenance practices.
  • Good working relationship with maintenance, operations and process teams.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing work scope, equipment availability, and business needs while still accomplishing required actions.
  • Evaluation of new equipment, repairs, life cycle costs, and development of procedures and PM’s for equipment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential to perform this role.
  • Ability to work with software particularly CMMS, Word and Excel.
  • Good written and spoken English skill.
  • Excellent communication skills.
