Safety Engineer

Follow-up on implementing Safety and Health procedures, which is include & not limited to industrial Hygiene and Emergency response, contractor, permitting system, safety committee procedures allover JBC and make necessary corrective actions if needed to ensure personnel, equipment are working in a safe manner as requested by the procedures and Jordanian law and regulations related to health and safety.
Prepare Safety and Health procedures, which is include & not limited to industrial hygiene and emergency response procedures as needed to assure that all jobs, employees’ activities, and equipment operation are complying with HSE objectives and requirements.
Prepare HSE reports, awareness messages & analysis for incidents, audits results & other presentations which represent site HSE performance.
Participate in making critical decisions regarding HSE activities based on technical knowledge and expertise to solve problems correctly and safely with minimum cost.
Inspect and audit site workplaces and make sure all are safe for the employee and prepare the needed report that include corrective actions to mitigate and element any hazard.
Follow up on procurement of personal protective equipment and means of fire prevention systems and first aid tools.

Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering (Chemical engineering is preferred).
Five-year experience (as min) in chemical plants including 3 years as field of health and safety.
Excellent knowledge in Jordanian law and regulations related to health and safety in addition to international standard such as OSHA, NFPA.
Hold an accreditation course in occupational safety and health as supervisor from vocational training center.
Experience in work permitting systems such as hot work permit and confined space permit requirements.
Experience in work at height protection system and excavation safety.
Experience in fire protection systems such fire water pumps, sprinkler system and fire extinguishers.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 internal audit certification is advantage.
NEBOSH IGC is advantage.
Very good English language skills, communication skills and computer skills.
